Here you will find a few tips and tricks for using our products. It is not meant to be exhaustive, but to provide inspiration. While we would love to be able to answer all of your questions, time and the need to run a business will not allow, so please keep that in mind. Thank you!

Easy Patch Testing

We always recommend that you do a skin patch test before using any of our products next to your skin. Apply a small amount of the conjure powder in question to the inside of your wrist or elbow and leave it, uncovered and unwashed, for 24 hours. If no sign of itching, redness, or swelling occurs after the 24-hour period, it should be safe for you to use the conjure powder. However, if a reaction does develop, discontinue the use of the conjure powder and seek the advice of a physician.

Using BCC Conjure Oils

While most of our oils are "skin safe" (except for ones like Crossing, D.U.M.E., or Hot Foot), we always recommend that you do a patch test before applying our oils to your person, because everybody (and every body) is different.

Black Cat Curios Conjure Oils have a variety of uses—they may be used to dress candles, mojos, dollies, petitions, door and window frames, the edges of business cards, pictures, the bottom of your shoes, lucky carrying pieces and roots, clothing, mouse pads, computers, phones, etc. In addition, they may be added to container works or other pre-made products and used for other purposes like hand lotions, shampoo, wash water, bath water, and in the laundry cycle, etc. The only real limitation is that they should not be eaten or fed to someone else. This is also not to say that a couple of drops of an oil cannot be placed on your palm to be transferred to your target when shaking hands. Do this, however, at your own risk, as you cannot be sure what other's reactions may be.

As a rule, when using conjure oils, you dress up you body and towards you to bring things to you, and down your body or away from you to remove conditions or send things away. In addition, it is common to dress the area of the body where the effect of the oil is most needed. For example, to apply uncrossing oil, you would start at you head and work you way down to the bottom of your feet. For oils associated with love or money start at the soles of the feet and work upward to the top of your head.

Oils that are associated with the head or affect mentation, for example, Crown of Success or King Solomon Wisdom, are applied to the third eye, the crown of the head, and the indentation and round where the back of the head and the neck meet. Crystal Clarity and Blessed Healing oils are usually applied to the affected body part and also the indentation and round where the back of the head and the neck meet. (Spiritually speaking, this the most vulnerable part of the body.)

Sexually-oriented oils like Fire of Desire, Follow Me Boy, Double Venus, and Double Mars may be applied to the buttocks and around the groin region, but not directly to the genitals.

Oils meant to be helpful in gambling luck, for example, New Orleans Red Fast Luck or Black Cat, are usually applied to the hands, dice, or slot machine before gaming.

Besides dressing your hands, you can also dress your feet. Try making a cross with Uncrossing, Evil Eye Protection, or Fiery Wall of Protection oil on the soles of your feet or the bottoms of your shoes before heading out for the day.

Speaking of protection, use our Safe Travel, Fiery Wall of Protection, or Evil Eye Protection oils to dress the tires of your car, the steering wheel, the door handles, or the rear-view mirror. Dress the windows and door frames of your house to help keep out thieves and other undesirable people.

Dress your folding money and you wallet with Mean Green Money Magnet or Rich Bitch to keep money with you and to attract more.

Dress your lottery tickets and bingo cards with Black Cat Oil before playing.

Dress your boss' mouse with Boss Fix oil and your office nemesis' with Bend Over oil.

Obviously, there's really no end to the ways our conjure oils can be used, so don't limit yourself to just dressing candles, petition papers, mojos, and anointing roots!

Using BCC Conjure Powders

Conjure powders, AKA "sachet powders," and "dressing powders" are great as a follow up to a spiritual bath. In fact, layering a spiritual bath with conjure powders and conjure oils is the best. But that is just the beginning! Conjure powders are used much the same way as conjure oils, but they do not leave an oily residue, which makes them even easier to deploy. Try them on important papers, or transfer them onto people's clothes when brushing by them. Sprinkle them across thresholds and onto sidewalks. Dress playing cards, birthday cards, and business cards. Use them in all of your works—sprinkled on candles and petition papers, or spooned into dollies, jars, mojos, and packets. Mix them with other powders or dirts and deploy them into a target's path or mix them with their foot track. Our conjure powders make it so easy to be sneaky, you'll have a hard time stopping yourself!

Dressing & Fixing a Vigil

The process of preparing a candle to burn for a magical purpose is a personal thing. Everyone has his or her own technique. I offer here a quick list of steps to get you started.

  1. Clean the candle with alcohol, lemon juice, or Florida Water.
  2. Trim the wick and, if necessary, reposition it.
  3. Inscribe the name/s and birthdate/s of the person/s who need the work.
  4. Poke four or more holes in the top.
  5. "Load" the candle with a small amount herbs, roots, powders, etc.
  6. Write out your petition and place it under the candle just before you light it.
  7. Pray your petition into the candle.
