THE PRACTITIONER, MADAME JA

I have always been in touch with nature and the supernatural, but also have a very analytical, practical, and creative mind. I have been on this spiritual path, of mine, for decades. I have had the very good fortune of learning from many skilled and knowledgeable people, including family members. My most consistent areas of study are North American Folk Magic, European Witchcraft, Herbology, Osteomancy, Tarot, Reiki, and Feng Shui. 

I grew up in the wilds of Indiana, Ohio, and Texas. In 1992, I moved to Arizona, and have stayed much longer than I ever anticipated. I share a quiet life with my partner (of almost thirty years), five rescue cats, and two very old cockatiels. I like to joke that I am just a goldfish away from running an animal sanctuary. I am an open book. Should you have any questions about me or my practice then please just ask. I would describe myself and the store as always being "in a process of refinement."

THE STORE, BLACK CAT CURIOS™

I always wanted a cool, metaphysical shop that would scratch that certain witchy itch I have forever had. However, the commitment of a brick-and-mortar shop just never appealed to me. An online store, on the other hand, seemed like just the thing, given my IT background. Black Cat Hoodoo was started in 2010 and it eventually morphed into Black Cat Curios, to better encompass all of my interests and spiritual inclinations. 

I like to say that the store is "the crossroads of the natural and the supernatural," because to me, that is what it is. You have the herbs, powders, minerals, oils, waxes, animals and insects, which have their own natural powers, and then we utilize them to interface and influence things in the spiritual/supernatural world.

I take my role in bringing those creations to my customers, very seriously. I rely on authenticity and tradition to ensure that everything is formulated in such a way as to bring about the desired result.

In addition, I emphasize excellent customer service. I know how I would like to be treated and always try to pass that on to my customers. 

Lastly, known that Black Cat Curios is the result of many, many YEARS of MY study, documentation, formulating, testing, correcting, creating, designing, writing, editing, marketing, packaging, shipping, calling, mailing, etc. I DO IT ALL. So, when you purchase from me, I don't take that lightly. I'm going to remember you. You are somebody to me. So happy that you are here!
